“Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime."

One of the ways to alleviate or lessen poverty is through education. By helping the poor and under-privileged to attain higher levels of education, we have equipped them with the knowledge and skill set that will allow them to get better paying jobs.  With this, we also hope that it will break the cycle of multi-generational poverty.

Kuok Foundation Berhad offers financial assistance in various forms such as scholarships, grants and loans in the following categories to the poor, under-privileged and deserving students who are striving hard to break the cycle of poverty through education.

KF hopes that her scholarship recipients will live up to their calling to take up this very noble and challenging profession. May they never forget that Nursing is not just a job but a mission that will demand much self-sacrifices, all the patience and compassion that they can muster to alleviate the pain, suffering, fears and loneliness of their future patients.

The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted touching stories of the dedication, self-sacrifices and compassion of frontliners, in particular nurses. It illustrates the crucial roles nurses have to play not just in times of crises but in everyday life. Their rewards will not be measured in dollars and cents but in the eternal gratitude of the patients that they have lovingly cared for.

May our recipients too live a meaningful life of dedicated service to their fellow men and women. May each of them be remembered one day as an Angel of Mercy following the footsteps of the great Florence Nightingale.
